Robotic machine tending
Repeated loading of rotational parts can constrain an operator who also performs gauging and packing.
AXISFORGE / APPLICATION ENGINEERING
Define the hand-off between the machine, loading system and production team before requesting a proposal.
Engineering planning guide · Updated 2026-10-09. Equipment links refer to fictional demonstration models.
Describe how incoming parts arrive, how they are identified and where completed parts must go. Include the handling of rejected parts, empty trays and interruptions. A loading proposal is easier to assess when the supplier can see the beginning and end of the process rather than only the movement between a gripper and a machine door.
Supply the machine model, controller details and the available interface documentation. Ask the machine supplier and automation integrator to confirm the proposed communication and responsibility boundaries. Do not assume that two products can exchange all required signals because they use a familiar interface name. Record who will confirm readiness, part presence, completion and fault recovery for the actual installation.
List the part families, presentation methods and the expected frequency of changeover. Explain which items an operator would replace or adjust, such as trays and fixtures, and who will maintain the associated instructions. Include the conditions that make a part unsuitable for automatic handling. A demonstration using one ideal component should not be treated as evidence for every part in the production mix.
Request a proposal that identifies assumptions, integration work, operator tasks and the checks required before use. Site safety and commissioning require assessment by the responsible qualified parties; this planning guide does not specify a safe cell design. Agree a representative trial and how interruptions and restarts will be reviewed. Use the inquiry form to share the machine and part context, then confirm implementation details directly with the engineering team.
