Turned coupling tending study

An operator alternates chuck loading with dimensional checks and finished-part packing.

Fictional demonstration scenario. Customer type and region are illustrative; no actual customer, completed installation or measured improvement is represented.

Customer type

Industrial coupling supplier

Country / region

Spain

Problem / production requirements

An operator alternates chuck loading with dimensional checks and finished-part packing.

Recommended approach

The coupling study proposes a blank tray with consistent orientation and gripper fingers designed around the non-critical outside diameter. A finished-part station leaves access for a manual gauge before packing.

Technical considerations

Oily blanks, short gripping lengths and chuck position changes need trials. Define what happens when a gauge rejects a finished coupling.

Evaluation / acceptance criteria

The fictional acceptance plan verifies that a failed grip or clamp inhibits machining and that rejected parts remain traceable. No actual labour saving is claimed.
